Porbandar is a port city of Gujarat situated on the Arabian sea. It has been an important trading center since ancient times . It was under the rule of the Jetwa Rajputs for 2000 years. Porbandar was often refered to as Puravelakul in the past. Presently it is famous as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi It is a fully developed urban district and a port of international standard.
